Abstrak

This article examines the importance of considering various ethical aspects in the use of cryptocurrency and blockchain, particularly in the context of providing more efficient, secure, and transparent lending. Adopting an applied ethics approach, the article analyzes blockchain technology from several philosophical perspectives, including utilitarianism, deontology, and distributive justice theory, to explore its benefits and challenges. The findings indicate that blockchain technology has the potential to enhance financial access for previously underserved communities. However, it also faces significant challenges, such as issues of privacy, data security, and the legal categorization of crypto assets. Thus, this article underscores the importance of regulation as an ethical foundation to protect individual rights and ensure transparency in cryptocurrency services. Finally, this study recommends steps for further research to maximize the societal benefits of blockchain technology while mitigating potential future risks.
